The great advantages of this reducing spoke to a 2.3 nipple are on the one hand the better breaking load and a higher tensile strength and on the other hand the spoke can be attached to all common rims with 2.3 nipple despite thicker wire. The material used is stainless steel (1.4301, also known as V2A steel).
